I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Hytech Solar, particularly with our consultant Hao, was extremely disappointing. We had our solar panels installed in January. Within about a week, the installation was deemed non-compliant, meaning we couldn't use the system. For the next two months, I had to repeatedly follow up to have the issues rectified. Each time I contacted Hao, I was given excuses as to why the rectification works couldn't be organised. During this process, one of the contractors involved in the rectification works asked my father to fix the non-compliant issues himself. When my father declined, he was told that the contractor would not come back to the house to complete the repairs. It wasn't until I said I was prepared to take the matter to VCAT that I received a call to arrange the repairs. During that conversation, I explained that we were not comfortable having contractors work at our home while it was unattended. Rather than working with us to find a suitable time, I felt pressured to allow access while no one was home, otherwise I was told the repairs would be delayed by several more weeks. After that experience, I contacted Hytech Solar directly and requested that Hao no longer communicate with my family. I was happy to deal with another representative instead. Because the system had been non-compliant and unusable for around two months, and because I was still waiting for the Certificate of Completion after the rectification works were finished, I withheld payment until I received the required documentation. Hao came to our home unannounced and spoke with my father, who speaks Vietnamese and has limited English. He attempted to have my father sign documents or pay the invoice immediately. My father declined to sign anything and asked for the paperwork to be left so I could review it first. Hao states all the required documentation was emailed to my father, the only email I had received from Hytech Solar was an overdue invoice nothing else. Hao then stated that legal action would be taken if the invoice was not paid, despite the fact that I was still waiting for the completion certificate before finalising payment. My issue is not with the solar system itself now that the defects have been rectified, but with the customer service and communication throughout this process. I found the repeated delays, the pressure to allow unattended access to our home, the contractor refusing to return unless my father carried out the repairs himself, the unannounced visit, and the attempt to obtain signatures from my father while I was handling the matter to be very unprofessional and distressing. Hytech Solar, this is an employee that you have representing your company.

Had a great experience with Luke. Over years I’ve been on and off thinking about solar, never understood it previously and had terrible experiences with other people over the years who just confused me too much. Until I spoke to Luke at Hytech. He just explained it perfectly, translated it so well that I understand it all from start to finish, worked on tonnes of scenarios with me and created a really good package that suited what I was looking for, where others said it wasn’t possible. Installers were great as well and communicated everything so well. Thank you for the amazing experience and great service from start to end. Especially Luke.

Luke from HytechSolar discussed my requirements for panels and we arrived at a really good solution which over two years ago has been a very good working system. Luke also advised me to wait to install a battery which I did and the battery has been in place now for about six months and cost far less than it would have had I installed at the same time as the solar panels - extremely happily with my interaction with Luke and the installers. Luke Higgins came to our house to discuss the prospect of adding solar panels to our roof. We had many questions. Luke seemed very competent in explaining the many facts about possible number of panels and their arrangement on our roof with corresponding benefits and possible pitfalls. His technical knowledge gave us confidence. After he prepared plans for installation, he continued to correspond with easy to understand answers to the questions I'd had. During the day of installation when one or two unexpected problems arose, he was able to contact the installer and electrician to solve those issues. Luke inspires confidence. He took the time to do things properly.

We give Hytec Solar 5 stars. We are so happy with all communications questions have been answered ASAP even on weekends. Being shift workers Luke has made sure all work worked around our schedules. From day 1 till final installation of Batteries fast and quick work. We have recommended this company to so many friends and family
